In 2023, the research team of our subsidiary MemBrain published 1 academic article in the form of a poster and 5 contributions in conference proceedings.
We maintain regular collaboration with chemistry-focused schools and their career centres. For example, we regularly have stands at the KONTAKT 2023 fair at the University of Pardubice and iKariéra 2023 at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (VŠCHT). We consistently collaborate with chemistry-focused schools in both the Czech Republic and abroad, such as STU Bratislava. In March 2023, we organized a lecture at UPCE (University of Pardubice) titled “Membrane Technologies: From Development to Applications.”
As in previous years, MEGA employees participated in the charitable event “Day Against Cancer” again this year. At the workplace in Stráž pod Ralskem, volunteers from the local children’s leisure community Výři collected financial contributions for the prevention of bronchial and lung cancer.

As part of the May Health Days, we contributed to the Czech Day Against Cancer and participated in the Help with Movement challenge. Nearly 30 employees joined the effort, and as a company, we successfully earned 22,808 points during the first week of May. This achievement propelled the MEGA Group to first place in the overall ranking among more than a hundred participating groups.
The ČEZ Foundation subsequently converted the points into financial support where it was most needed.
The winner of the challenge was Kuba Fehér with 4,660 points, followed by Lukáš Semián in second place with 4,446 points, and Jirka Jíra in third place with 4,428 points.

In the summer of 2023, we announced painting competition for children under the age of 10. From all the submitted pictures, we drew a winner, who received a small surprise gift box from us.
An employee collection of mobile phones was organized as part of the global day of generosity and good deeds, Giving Tuesday.

On June 27, 2023, and December 7, 2023, the regular semi-annual meetings of our jubilants took place at MEGA and MemBrain. We greatly value the work of our long-serving colleagues, as we recognize that it is people, along with their knowledge and experience, who shape our company and enable us to remain a leader in global markets. Jubilants celebrating significant professional or personal milestones were invited for coffee and small treat. During the meeting, the CEO, Ing. Luboš Novák, personally expressed his gratitude. Together with Ing. M. Bobák (Director of Research and Development) and Ing. Z. Petráš (Director of the Division of Membrane Processes), they also answered questions from the attending jubilants.
For the schoolchildren who will be starting school in September, we have prepared a small gift at the HR department that will be a useful companion as they settle into their new school desks.

Employees of the MEGA Group raised a financial donation for the St. Zdislava Hospice in Liberec. The collection took place as part of a company initiative on the transparent platform Darujme.cz.

As part of the Best Innovation contest announced in December 2023, a total of 7 suggestions have been submitted as of February 19, 2024. Of these, two have been implemented in production and financially rewarded.
The Christmas party took place on December 15, 2023, at MCU Koloseum. The event featured a speech by the CEO, a performance by our own band Megallica, the Mega Quiz, a performance by disabled dancers, a drumming show, a raffle, and a lavish buffet.
The proceeds from the Christmas raffle, totalling 30,000 CZK, were equally divided between two projects: “Wind in the Sails for Eleonorka,” a 2.5-year-old girl from Křižany battling muscular atrophy, and “A More Independent Life for Janička,” who is wheelchair-bound and, along with her dance partner, performed a touching dance for us at the party. The donation also supported a public fundraiser on Donio.
The Christmas party was made possible thanks to the help of employees from the sheltered workshop at MCU Koloseum Liberec. The main mission of MCU KOLOSEUM is to provide sheltered employment opportunities for people with disabilities, enabling them to participate in the workforce and achieve much-needed self-fulfillment. Thank you very much!

In 2023, we provided financial support to several projects, including Bohemorum s.r.o. – Lípa Musica 2023, the Czech Handball Association, the Czech FSKA Karate Association, the Emil Votoček Endowment Fund, the Good Government Institute, scientific research by students at VŠCHT (University of Chemistry and Technology), and Triathlon Česká Lípa.
