Employee training and development

Education

Training plans are designed annually and tailored individually for each department and employee based on the specific needs of the calendar year. These plans are evaluated once a year. We actively seek out new talents and strive to develop them effectively. Employees, in agreement with their supervisors, can take advantage of a wide range of prepared educational activities, including customized training programs. We support qualification enhancement and offer employees qualification agreements and career plans.

Employees have the opportunity throughout the year to enhance or upgrade their qualifications through specialized training and soft skills workshops. In 2023, we completed a three-year educational grant project called Innovating Through Education, which involved 99 employees and included a total of 106 training courses during the period, 63 of which were in soft skills, 35 in IT, and 8 in accounting. Employees also participated in additional external educational activities in 2023. In the area of professional competency training, we conducted 11 courses and 42 other specialized courses to enhance employee qualifications.

We support employees who are studying – they can take advantage of study leave or, in technical and administrative positions, flexible working hours or reduced workloads. Employees also have the opportunity to regularly attend international trade fairs and conferences. In 2023, MEGA employees attended 12 trade fairs and conferences, MemBrain employees participated in 14 events, and MEGA-TEC employees attended one international trade fair in Italy and one conference in the Czech Republic.

Our strategy includes working not only with our own employees but also with students. We actively and regularly participate in career days at chemistry-focused universities in the Czech Republic (University of Pardubice and University of Chemistry and Technology Prague) and collaborate with foreign universities involved in the Erasmus program. We have also integrated the field of electromembrane processes into the curriculum.

We have established a student program at www.membrain.cz/student for both Czech and international students from technical fields. In 2023, MEGA hosted 3 high school internships and 1 university internship, while MemBrain hosted 4 universities and 1 high school internship.

We regularly organize excursions for students; in 2023, two excursions were held at MEGA and MemBrain (Grammar school Mimoň and Elementary school Špičák Česká Lípa, with international students from the Erasmus program). We also participate regularly in career days at selected universities, such as the KONTAKT 2023 fair at the University of Pardubice and iKariéra 2023 at the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague.

We maintain long-term collaborations with TUL Liberec and STU Bratislava, and we have a temporary workplace at VUT Brno. In March 2023, we organized a lecture at UPCE titled “Membrane Technologies: From Development to Applications.” Graph of students at MemBrain:

The publication activity is also extensive. In 2023, the research team of the subsidiary company MemBrain published one professional article, five contributions in conference proceedings, presented seven posters, and gave several professional presentations at international conferences:

These comprised 63 courses in soft skills, 35 in IT, and 8 in accounting. Through this grant project under the de minimis regulation, we utilized training opportunities worth over 1.5 million CZK, of which approximately 240,000 CZK was utilized in 2023.

In 2023, MEGA employees also participated in additional external educational activities. In the area of professional competency training, we conducted 11 courses and 45 other specialized courses aimed at enhancing employee qualifications, with a total value exceeding 0.5 million CZK.

Our strategy involves working not only with our employees but also with students. We actively and regularly participate in career days at chemistry-focused universities, such as the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, the University of Pardubice, the Technical University of Liberec, and others. We also actively collaborate with international universities, such as STU Bratislava and other institutions participating in the Erasmus program.

We have integrated the field of electromembrane processes into academic curricula and are authors or co-authors of several professional publications. We offer excursions for secondary and higher education institutions at both our parent company and subsidiaries, including the Membrane Innovation Center (MIC I), with expert commentary.

For university students, we provide a long-established student program and organize an annual workshop on student projects. We also regularly host professional conferences and lectures on electromembrane processes and occasionally publish the results of our activities in scientific journals. Additionally, excursions for elementary schools are organized by our subsidiary, MEGA-TEC.
